Two Great Purification Practices to Remove Disease and Outer and Inner Spiritual Obstacles
Prayers for World Peace and 35 Confession Buddhas
These two practices help deal with outer and inner obstacles to attaining enlightenment. One of those clear obstacles is COVID-19, affecting peoples health, family relationships, and financial well-being. These practices were given by Buddha to specifically pacify sickness, disease, holding wrong views, mistaken ideas of what wisdom is, and disharmony. In addition, these practices create the causes for the inner peace we long for. With continued repetition and meditation we can be led to enlightenment.
Prayers for World Peace – Reciting Buddha’s Heart Sutra and Meditation on the Wisdom Realizing Emptiness
(In-Person or Live-Stream Sunday Mornings 11:00 – 11:50 am, or Live-Stream Recording)
We perform this meditation on behalf of all living beings. The purpose is to rid the world of the virus that is damaging our lives and economies.
In addition, all living beings wish to be happy but find their attainment of happiness frustrated by obstacles or hindrances, both external and internal. The recitation of Buddha’s Heart Sutra also known as The Great Mother creates the causes to be free from delusions and disease.

35 Confession Buddhas
In our previous lives, while under the influence of deluded minds, we created a great deal of negative karma. As a result, we now experience difficulties in developing faith and conviction in Dharma and in making progress in our spiritual practice. If we do not purify all this negativity while we have the chance, we shall have to experience great suffering in the future.
Since purification is the root of future happiness and spiritual realizations, we should strive to cleanse our mind of delusions and negative karma. We now have this precious opportunity to improve our karma by engaging in the recitation of the The Bodhisattva’s Confession of Moral Downfalls.
