MEDITATION & BUDDHISM CLASSES
Introduce your child to meditations that develop a happy heart
Meditations for Kids and Families (ages 3-14)
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Every parent wants their child to be happy, healthy and successful in life. Meditation is a perfect tool to introduce into a child’s day to promote inner strength and mental and emotional well-being.
In these lighthearted Sunday morning classes, children learn simple meditations and other methods to calm their minds and deal with negative feelings by applying Buddha’s teachings. Classes include a group story (that revolves around mindfulness or ethics), a guided meditation, discussion about everyday experiences relevant to children, and concludes with a snack and activities that foster habits such as kindness, cooperation, patience and giving.
Parents are welcome to stay with their children and enjoy the beauty of Dharma in these classes.
“My two six year-old boys have been attending for about a year. I’ve watched them go from two guys who couldn’t sit still, to two guys who could sit but couldn’t stop distracting each another, to two guys who can now sit in quiet meditation for three minutes (most of the time) and can articulate the value of kindness and compassion.” ~ John W
