Universal Compassion and Exchanging Self with Others
Take four days off in the desert of Joshua Tree and meditate on the profundity of Buddha’s teachings on Universal Compassion. Self cherishing is like an iron chain that keeps us locked in samsara. The fundamental reason for our suffering is that we are in samsara, and we are in samsara because we continually create the deluded, self-centered actions that perpetuate the cycle of uncontrolled rebirth. Instead whenever we meet someone we can think that their happiness and freedom are important. In this way we can change our object of cherishing from ourself to all living beings.
Silent from 7:30pm each evening to 1:00pm each day. The retreat is self contained at the Joshua Retreat Center just east of Palm Springs. Please arrive for registration between 4:00pm and 6:30pm, Friday afternoon to register and get settled in your room.
Cost includes three nights and four days shared accommodation and all meals: $275.
Please call Gen Kelsang Tangpa to RSVP or if you have any questions. (310) 848-9680 or email: info@MeditateinTheSouthBay.org
